Ekta Kapoor, one of India’s well-known television producers, film producers and directors receives the fourth high civilian honour on Monday,8th November 2021.
The ceremony was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan where she was awarded the honour by India President Ram Nath Kovind for her contribution in the field of performing arts and excellence in television, films and digital content.
On asked about her emotion after receiving such a prestigious award, she shares her gratefulness for the recognition and says she dedicates this award to her ‘two pillars of strength’-her parents Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra. She further adds how such a moment feels so surreal and is quite a matter of pride.
“I am quite overwhelmed with all the love and accolade coming my way. I want to thank my family and friends, my team Balaji and most importantly, my audience who has supported and believed in me through this journey. I hope to push my envelope, challenge norms, give talents a platform they deserve and give back to the country at most that have fueled me my ambitions and dreams.
She later also shared a picture of her and her father Jeetander on her Instagram handle and captions it saying, “Thanku Thanku Thanku, the biggest day of my professional life n second only to d birth of my son!#padmashri#JAIHIND”.
